What the last groups said.
★ 4.5 from 1,685 reviews
I was nervous about going to Kashmir alone as a woman. Our captain Imran checked on every room each night and the group became family by day two. Already booked Ladakh with them.
Price was exactly what they quoted. No surprise charges, no hard sell at shawl shops. Sonamarg in the snow was the best day of my year.
Came with two college friends, left with fourteen. The houseboat night and Betaab Valley alone were worth it.
Questions people ask before booking.
Who is this trip for?
Glabol trips are only for 18–35 year olds, so you travel with a group of young people who are fun and easy to get along with. Getting friends to commit to a trip is hard, so plenty of people join solo when others back out. You may set off with a bunch of strangers, but you'll come back with a family.
Where does the trip start and end?
You choose. Board and leave in Jammu or Srinagar for ₹14,000, or start and end in Delhi for ₹17,000 with the bus to Jammu and back included. The Delhi bus leaves for Jammu (or Katra) after 6 PM on day 1 and is back in Delhi on the morning of day 8. If you fly to Srinagar, flights and airport pickup or drop aren't part of the package.
Where do we stay?
Five nights on triple or quad sharing: one night on a houseboat in Srinagar, three nights at a hotel in Srinagar and one night in Pahalgam. Every hotel has a room heater or electric blanket, and the third and fourth person in a room get an extra mattress. On the Delhi option, nights 1 and 7 are on the overnight bus.
Is Kashmir safe to travel right now?
The route sticks to Kashmir's main tourist circuit, and a dedicated tour captain stays with your group for the whole trip. If the weather, local government rules or the political situation change, Glabol rearranges the itinerary or transport as needed.
How fit do I need to be?
There are no treks on this trip. You travel by road and walk around each stop. In Gulmarg, vehicles stop at the parking area, so you continue on foot or by local union taxi. Pony rides, like the ones to Thajiwas glacier and Alpather Lake, are optional.
Is the Gulmarg gondola included?
No, it's optional and paid separately. Book your gondola tickets online as soon as you've booked the trip to avoid last-minute queues. Tickets depend on availability, and Glabol isn't responsible if they sell out. In winter, if heavy snow or black ice means only 4×4 vehicles are allowed, guests hire them at their own cost.
When is the best time to go?
Batches run from October to June, and all follow the same plan. December to February is snow season; if snowfall closes Sonamarg, we visit Yousmarg instead. Aru Valley turns into a winter wonderland, and Alpather Lake stays frozen until June.
What should I pack?
A down jacket comfortable down to −15°C, 2–3 woollen trek pants, 3 T-shirts, 2 woollen fleeces, waterproof woollen gloves, a sun cap, a woollen cap (plus a spare for layering), a woollen neck warmer or bandana, a quick-dry towel, 3–4 pairs of undergarments and 2 pairs of thermal innerwear. Carry an original ID (Aadhaar card, driving licence, voter ID or passport); there's no boarding without one. Pack light and leave valuables at home: Glabol isn't responsible if they're lost.
How do payment and cancellation work?
Pay the booking amount to confirm your seat and the rest at least 20 days before the trip, or the booking is cancelled automatically. Glabol also offers travel now, pay later; ask your trip captain how it works. The booking amount isn't refundable. Cancel 30–45 days before the start date and 50% of the trip cost is charged; within 30 days, 100%. You can move to another batch if you tell us at least 45 days before the trip, subject to availability.
